MATARACU TENT CAMP- BUENA VISTA
PROGRAM 2 DAYS - 1 NIGHT:
TIME ACTIVITY
DAY 1:
06:00 am. Departure to Buena Vista and drive through the traditional villages Warnes, Montero and Portachuelo.
07:30 am. Arrival in Buena Vista where we have breakfast in Hotel Amboro Eco Resort.
08:00 am. Drive to the Mataracu Tent Camp by 4-WD.
10:00 am. Arrival at the MTC, welcome cocktail and a guidance chat.
11:00 am. Visit the famous Bibosi (Ficus) named "La Torre Ehifel Ecológica", a caprisious wonder to see and to understand all its splendor and natural essence. |

11:30 am. Free time to enjoy the fresh and cristal clear water of the natural swimmingpool at the MTC.
12:30 am. Lunch.
14:00 am. Guided hike along the"Pozas" path which leads us through the interesting primary and
secundary forests in Amboro National Park, where we enjoy the fascinating dense and
diverse vegetation of the tropical rainforest together with the mysterious sounds of birds and
insect like a true natural sympony. We have also the opportunity to visit the dinosaur fossil
and the magistic group of waterfalls and the deep pools of the green ravins, where it is
possible to dive and have fun in the clean waters.
17:00 pm. Return to the MTC where we enjoy a delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
19:00 pm. Dinner.
20:00 pm. Free time or a night hike.
DAY 2 OPTION A:
06:00 am. Breakfast at the Mataracu Tent Camp
07:00 am. Hike throught the "Dinosaurios" path. This journey we will hike into the deep humid forests of
Amboro National Park, where we enjoy the impressive vegetation, see the animals that live
here and find there traces. We go to the mysterious caves and the enormous ravins, where
we see the fossils of a dinosaur specie that is new founded by science.
11:00 am. Arrival at the "Dinosaurios" waterfalls where we have a refreshment, enjoy the cristal clear
waters, the majestic landscape and have a delicious rural lunch.
12:30 p.m. Return to the Mataracu Tent Camp
16:00 p.m. Time to relax and taste delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
19:00 p.m. Return to Amboro Eco Resort and transfer to Santa Cruz.
OPTION B:
06:00 a.m. Breakfast at the MTC.
07:00 a.m. Hike to the "Cajones del Yapacaní". This journey we will hike into the deep humid forests of
Amboro National Park, where we enjoy the impressive vegetation, see the animals that live
here and find there traces.
10:00 a.m. Arrival at the "Cajones del Yapacaní", where we take a refreshment and enjoy the fresh
water and white beaches of this river, which is one of the southest tributaries of the famous
Amazone river.
12:00 p.m. Return to the Mataracu Tent Camp.
15:00 p.m. Time to relax and have a delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
16:00 p.m. Return to Amboro Eco Resort and transfer to Santa Cruz.
OPTION C:
06:00 a.m. Breakfast at the Mataracu Tent Camp.
07:00 a.m. Hike to the "Los Vencejos" waterfall. This journey we will hike into the deep humid forests of
Amboro National Park, where we enjoy the impressive vegetation, see the animals that live
here and find there traces. We enjoy the adventrue of this trip at the upper riverbed named
the " Pedregosa" ravin, which has a lot of wonderfull waterfalls and natural pools.
10:00 a.m. Arrival at the "Cascada Los Vencejos", where we enjoy this marvelous spectacal by seeing
the Vencejos waterfall. Acrobatic birds, like tiny fighter planes, fly quickly from there nests
over the waterfall to find food. After a drink and a little bit of relaxation, we go to enjoy the
cristal clear waters of the natural pool. Before going down we will see a colony of bats that
live in caves at the side of the ravin.
13:00 a.m. Rural lunch (lunch-box).
14:00 p.m. Return to the Mataracu Tent Camp
17:00 p.m. Time to relax and have a delicious coffee with traditional fresh home-made bread!
16:00 p.m. Return to the Amboro Eco Resort and transfer to Santa Cruz.
DO NOT FORGET TO BRING FOLLOWING THINGS:
- Light cotton clothes, preferably in colors beige or green.
- Raincaot.
- Bathing suit.
- Repellent.
- Suncream.
- Suitable shoes for hiking.
- Flashlight
- Camera.
- Binoculars.
- Personal nessesary medicins.
- Most important: a possitive attitude to have a good time.
PLEASE DO NOT BRING FOLLOWING THING:
- Walkman, discman, etcetera. It is better to enjoy the natural sounds.
- Substancial pollutant, to prevent the environment getting dirty.
- Perfumes, they attract wasps and bees!
- Drugs
- Food and drinks.
- Fireweapons or any kind of knives are not allowed in the park.
